Booking and requests
How do I book a room?
Use our booking page with your dates and room type, or write to us. We confirm availability and price in writing. To finalise it we'll ask for your ID or passport, your approximate arrival time and a card (number and expiry) as a guarantee.
Do you charge anything to book?
No. The card is requested only as a guarantee; no charge is made to book. It would only be used to charge the first night if you don't show up without notice. Payment is made during or at the end of your stay.
Availability and dates
Do you have availability for my dates?
Tell us your exact dates and we confirm right away. If there's no room left, we add you to a waiting list and let you know as soon as one becomes available.
Prices, payment and invoicing
How much does it cost?
Single room: €42 / night. Double room: €53 / night. Breakfast and VAT included.
How do I pay?
In cash or by card, in person, usually on the day of departure. We email you the invoice as a PDF. For universities or companies we also accept a pro-forma invoice paid by bank transfer in advance.
I need an invoice in my university's or company's name
No problem. Give us the organisation's name, cost centre and DIR3 codes, and we issue the invoice in its name. The final invoice is issued once the service has been provided.
Rooms and facilities
What does the room include?
Private bathroom, Wi-Fi, television, heating and weekly cleaning.
Can a single room fit 2 people?
No. A single room is for 1 person; for 2 you need a double. Doubles are usually in high demand: if none is free we add you to the waiting list (many couples take 2 singles in the meantime).
Is there a dining room or common area?
Yes, a common room with a fridge and microwave. Breakfast is included in the price.
Groups and events
I'm organising a conference and need several rooms
We hold a block of rooms at the usual price (€42 single / €53 double) and each participant books directly, stating they're attending your event. The block is flexible: rooms can be released before registration closes. Each participant can request their own invoice with their own cost centre or DIR3.
Getting here and access
Where is it and how do I get there?
In the UAH Rectorate building, Plaza de San Diego s/n, Alcalá de Henares. Inside, the residence is in the 2nd courtyard, at the back on the left. About 15 min on foot from the Cercanías train station (direct link to Madrid); 30 km from Madrid via the A-2 and about 15 km from Barajas airport.
How do I get in if I arrive in the evening or at night?
You enter through the Rectorate's main door (the large central one, under the flags). On weekdays it closes around 20:00–21:00; if it's shut, use the door knocker (there's no bell). A 24-hour security guard will open up and give you the key if staff have already left. That's why it helps us to know your approximate arrival time.
Stay, breakfast and services
Is breakfast included? Where?
Yes, included. We give you tickets for the café in the courtyard or the Metrópoli café (corner of Calle Libreros and Plaza de Cervantes).
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in from 15:00, check-out until 11:00. After check-out you can leave your luggage if you need to.
Can I stay long-term or for the whole academic term?
Yes, we accept long stays and full academic-term stays, at the same nightly price.
